My First Acupuncture Experience

How many of you have ever had acupuncture before? Well Iā€™d heard lots of great things about it, but considering I have a major fear of needles I never thought it would be a thing for me. Anyway for some reason I decided to just make an appointment and give it a shot. I went to this cute place called The Blue Buddha SF in San Francisco.

Coincidently my friend is one of the acupuncturists so it was good to see her and have her do my first acupuncture. It was one of the most relaxing 90 minutes i've had in a long time! Seriously best cat nap ever!

By discussing a bit about my medical history we were able to determined what treatment to do. (I swear I'm falling apart haha). We decided a full body acupuncture to cleans the body and rebalance my entire back would be the best place to start. Especially, since I'm normally at a desk designing, I have a lot of back/shoulder pain. Some of the benefits to doing acupuncture are releasing stress, anxiety, depression and of course help release tension and areas of pain on your body.

In addition to acupuncture I tried cupping for the first time. That is also another experience! The pressure of the cups suctioning to your skin is a bit painful but after a while you stop even feeling it. Once they are released you feel even more refreshed and your body feels brand new! As a warning the cupping does leave circular bruises all over your back, so if you plan to do cupping don't plan an event where you need to show your back!

I Highly recommend seeing Awny here! She's got such a light touch and made me feel so comfortable!! Good luck!! :)
